Our Mission
Maintain and build sustainable trails for all, represent and advocate for mountain bike trail users, educate trail users, and support the conservation of open spaces in Santa Barbara
History
Since our inception in 1988 as the Santa Barbara Mountain Bike Trail Volunteers (SBMTV), we have focused on providing access to the outdoors via bikes and sustainable trails. While we have grown in the decades since, this is still the forefront of our mission, from mountains in the Los Padres to Elings Park on the coast. Now a licensed contractor, we utilize a professional trail crew to aid our dedicated volunteers, and contribute about 2,000 field hours to more than 50 miles of trail yearly. Rebuilding after fires and floods, resurrecting neglected backcountry trail, and constructing new trail networks- its all part of our goal to safeguard and improve Santa Barbara’s treasured trail networks.
